UGREEN just opened a Kickstarter campaign for its first NAS devices. Customers can save up to 40% on a UGREEN NASync device with early bird pricing, meaning that the cheapest two-bay NASync unit can be secured for $239 instead of $400.

During its crowdfunding period, UGREEN is offering up to40% off each modelin the NASync collection. But there are a limited number of early-bird discounts, and some discounts were already secured by UGREEN fans back in January and February. Also, the campaign ends May 9th, so customers have just over a month to make a pledge on Kickstarter.

We got anearly lookat the UGREEN NASync lineup during CES 2024. There are six different units in this collection, each with 12th Gen Intel processors and 8GB of upgradeable DDR5 memory. UGREEN boasts advanced photo and file-organization features that can replace your Google Photos or Dropbox subscription, though it also promises support for media streaming (Plex), Docker, and virtual machines.

The NASync lineup consists of a two-bay NAS (DXP2800), a pair of four-bay units (DXP4800), a six-bay NAS (DXP6800 Pro), and a massive eight-bay NAS (DXP8800 Plus). Each unit can utilize 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch HDDs and comes with two additional M.2 SSD slots. Interestingly, there’s also an SSD-only unit (DXP480T Plus) with four M.2 slots.

In terms of pricing, the two-bay NAS (DXP2800) is the cheapest in this lineup. It costs $400 at MSRP but sells for as little as $239 with early-bird pricing. The six-bay (DXP6800 Pro) and eight-bay (DXP8800 Plus) units carry the largest prices, running at a respective $1,000 and $1,5000 before any discounts. As you move toward the more expensive side of this lineup, UGREEN throws in some special features, such as 10GbE connectivity, Intel Core series processors (rather than Pentium or N Series), and RAM expansion up to 64GB (up from 16GB in the two-bay model).

These are UGREEN’s first-ever NAS devices. Still, we were impressed when going hands-on with NASync at CES. Each device has a strong, substantial feel, and UGREEN’s custom operating system is more fleshed out than you’d expect. Though I should note that some advanced functionality, specifically Docker support, wasn’t available at CES. As with all Kickstarter campaigns, the NASync crowdfunding session requires a bit of blind faith.

If you’re willing to take a bet on UGREEN, head over to theNASync Kickstarter pageand make a pledge. You could save up to 40% on one of the new NASync devices and become one of the first NASync users.
