The copyright symbol (©) hints to others that something isprotected by copyright law. While neither Windows nor Mac keyboards have a dedicated key to quicklyinsert the copyright symbol, there’s a keyboard shortcut for both operating systems.

Search and find the copyright symbol.

The quickest way to make a copyright symbol is touse the Alt Code.

You can only use this shortcut if your keyboard has a numeric keypad, which is usually to the right of the keyboard. You can’t use this shortcut with the numbers at the top of the keyboard.

Press the Next icon.

Place the cursor where you’d like to insert the copyright symbol. Press and hold the Alt key and then press “0169” using the numeric keypad. Once you release the Alt key, the copyright symbol will be inserted.

If your Windows PC doesn’t have a numeric keypad, you canuse the emoji keyboardinstead. Press Windows+. to open the emoji keyboard.

Then, type “copyright” in the search box and click the copyright emoji to insert it.

On Mac, you canuse a keyboard shortcutthat doesn’t require a special numeric keypad.

First, place the cursor where you want to insert the copyright symbol. Next, press the Option+G keys on your keyboard.
