Summary
Back in 2020, Apple introduced MagSafe to iPhones—a system of magnets on the back of the phone that allowed the user to not only charge it, but also attach a series of accessories, including wallets, stands, and more, to your phone. The Pixel 10 series adds Qi 2 charging with magnets on the back for the first time, and Google is launching an ecosystem of accessories similar to MagSafe.
Google is launching a range of accessories dubbed Pixelsnap with the Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Not only is this the first Android phone range other than the HMD Skyline to supportQi 2 chargingwith a full set of magnets (some phones like the Galaxy S25 are certified to work with Qi 2 but lack the actual magnets), but it’s the first time an Android OEM is launching a range of MagSafe-like accessories to take advantage of those magnets. We have, of course, a Pixelsnap Charger that hooks to the back of your phone to wirelessly charge it, as well as a stand that holds your phone up while it charges.

There’s also a series of cases with magnets of their own, so you can continue using Pixelsnap accessories with those cases on. And there’s even a Ring Stand, which lets you hold your phone up on a table when you’re not charging it and even gives you extra grip when you don’t use it as a stand.
The selection of official Pixelsnap accessories is, at the moment, quite slim. The good part, however, is that the Qi 2 magnets here should, in theory, be identical to those used for MagSafe—Qi 2 came into existence thanks to Apple opening up its formerly proprietary standard. So any “MagSafe” accessories out there, like car stands, wallets, or power banks, are already compatible with your new Pixel 10. All you need to do is snap them to the back like you would snap something with MagSafe on an iPhone.

This is ultimately no different than putting a case with magnets on your phone, except the magnets are already on your phone. There’s a vast variety of different accessories you can check out and use by yourself, even if they might not be “official” if they don’t have a “G” logo (or even if they have a little Apple logo on them, because you might be able to get away with using some of those too even if it might be sacriligious).
Pixelsnap cases and accessories are coming with the Pixel 10 series, so check out theGoogle Storeto buy some if you’re getting one of the new phones.
